About Scottsdale Pool Acid Wash

Scottsdale Pool Acid Wash is a Scottsdale-based pool restoration service. We do one thing and do it well: bring stained, scaled, and neglected pools back to life by draining, acid washing, and refilling them. We are not a weekly-service company padding a route — we’re the crew your pool guy calls when a surface is past what brushing and chemicals can fix.

What we do

Our work centers on the jobs that require draining a pool and treating the bare surface:

• Pool acid wash — the full drain, acid wash, chlorine bath, and refill that strips years of calcium, metal stains, and mottling down to fresh plaster.
• Green pool cleanup — emergency recovery for algae-green pools at vacant homes, rentals, and snowbird properties.
• Calcium and scale removal and tile cleaning — bead blasting and acid treatment for the hard-water crust that Scottsdale’s water leaves on tile and plaster.
• Drain and clean — a fresh-water reset when the water is shot but the surface doesn’t need acid.
• Resurfacing prep — the chip-out and acid etch that lets a new plaster or Pebble finish actually bond.

Why we focus on Scottsdale and the northeast Valley

This corner of the Valley is a perfect storm for pool surface problems. Scottsdale and Paradise Valley are full of high-end pools — big Pebble Tec spas, negative-edge designs, custom plaster on large estate lots — and older homes whose plaster is now decades into its life. Layer on some of the hardest tap water in the country (200–500 ppm calcium carbonate, naturally high pH) and relentless desert sun, and you get calcium scale, dull plaster, and staining faster than almost anywhere else.

That mix is exactly what we’re built for. We understand how a luxury pebble finish behaves under acid versus a 1970s plaster pool in an older Tempe neighborhood, and we price and treat them differently. We cover Paradise Valley, Fountain Hills, Tempe, and Cave Creek from our Scottsdale base.

How we work

We keep it simple and honest. You send a few photos of the pool and waterline, and we send back a flat, up-front price — no pressure sales visit for most jobs. When we’re on-site, we drain to your sewer clean-out or landscaping the way City of Scottsdale rules require (never to the street or storm drain), work the plaster in shaded sections so it never dries and etches unevenly, neutralize the wastewater responsibly, and rebalance your chemistry before we leave.

Honesty is the whole business

Acid washing removes a thin layer of plaster every time. That means a surface can only take so many washes over its life before the plaster is too thin to keep etching. Plenty of operators will happily acid wash a pool that should be resurfaced instead — we won’t. If your plaster is thin, blotchy, or exposed aggregate, we’ll tell you straight and point you toward resurfacing prep instead. We’d rather earn the next job than sell you the wrong one now.
